Control Measures
There have been concerns expressed that dust from ground level activities such as stockpiles, loading and unloading operations and traffic movement around the site has an impact on the community.
We are aware of potential sources of fugitive dust and, along with rigorous monitoring, we continue to undertake a wide range of actions to address these, including:
- Weekly site wide review of all environmental incidents
- Hard surfaces swept and maintained daily
- Conducting root cause analysis of all potential dust sources for inclusion on improvement action list
- Installation of cameras
- Installation of rapid raise doors, including wharf bulk loading facility at the southern and northern ends of main clinker storage gantry
- Installation of shade cloth at the fences to the south and east of the Cement Mill 1 storage area
- A stockpile management plan formulated and submitted to
the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA)
- Dust suppression agent applied to site stockpiles
