Resident Representative Vacancies
Established in 2006, the CLG helps maintain a sustainable channel of communication between Adelaide Brighton Cement and the neighbouring community, providing opportunities to identify, discuss and resolve potential issues regarding the company's operations in Victoria Road, Birkenhead.
Its aim is to ensure there are no adverse impacts on the health and amenity of the local community.
The CLG comprises representatives from Adelaide Brighton Cement, local residents and the Port Adelaide Residents Environment Protection Group, supported by personnel representing the Environmental Protection Authority and Port Adelaide Enfield Council.
Scheduled meetings are generally held quarterly (in the evenings), facilitated by an independent chairperson. Additional meetings are held as required.
Are you interested in being involved?
Expressions of interest are now sought from residents keen to play an important role on behalf of their community.
Five resident-representative positions on the CLG are currently vacant. These are voluntary positions, initially for a term of 2 years.
Expressions of interest are invited from residents of the LeFevre Peninsula, in particular those living in or near Birkenhead, Peterhead and Largs North.
The only qualifications and experience necessary are simply a willingness to conscientiously represent and communicate issues identified by other local residents; availability to attend meetings; and to abide by the CLG Terms of Reference.
